Birgés Hotel
The interior design concept of the Sétány Hotel in Balatonfüred — a harbor-side building inspired by the shape of a ship — was based on the close relationship between Lake Balaton’s sailing culture and its reed-covered shoreline. During the design process, key inspirations included the meeting of stone and water, the natural materials and textures of the lakeside, as well as the characteristic forms and detailed craftsmanship of ship structures.
The aim was to create a bright, relaxing, yet distinctive sequence of spaces that simultaneously conveys the feeling of freedom and the refined luxury associated with sailing. The dynamically changing spaces connect in a clean and harmonious way, while the unity of nature and the built environment accompanies the entire interior experience of the hotel.
The materials and colors used throughout the interiors originate directly from the environment of Lake Balaton: the grey and reddish stone tones of the shoreline, the turquoise water of the lake, and the warm hues of wooden boat structures and interiors collectively define the atmosphere.
